Business, management, marketing and related fields were the top areas of study in Greater Philadelphia’s colleges and universities, ensuring the sector a well-educated workforce. In 2008/09, the region’s schools awarded 15,312 certificates and degrees in these fields, 18.3% of the total.
According to the FDIC, the region’s banks had total deposits of $379.8 billion at the end of June 2010. An additional $2.2 trillion in assets was under management by the region’s largest investment and mutual fund companies at the end of 2010.
